AI credits are the units that measure your usage of AI-powered features in Moda. Every time you use an AI feature — like generating a design, creating an image, removing a background, or asking the AI to edit your layout — it consumes a certain number of credits.

Different actions cost different amounts of credits depending on how computationally intensive they are. For example, generating a full multi-page design costs more credits than a simple background removal. Think of credits like fuel for AI — more complex requests use more fuel.

Your credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle. On the Free plan, you receive 1,500 credits per seat per month. On the Pro plan, you receive 6,000 credits per seat per month. On the Ultra plan, you receive 22,000 credits per seat per month. If you run out of credits mid-cycle on a paid plan, additional usage is billed at a metered rate — so you never hit a wall.

Moda offers three AI design models with different capabilities and credit costs:

Lite model (0.5x cost) — Best for simple designs and most edits. Perfect for quick social posts, basic layouts, and straightforward design tweaks. This is the most cost-effective option for everyday tasks.

Standard model (1x cost) — Good for most designs. Handles complex layouts, multi-page documents, and sophisticated design requests. This is the recommended default for most use cases.

Pro model(1.5x cost, Pro plan only) — Reserve this for your most complex and demanding designs. The Pro model has the highest capabilities but costs can add up quickly if you're not careful. We recommend monitoring Pro jobs and stopping them if they're taking too long or consuming more credits than expected.

On the Free plan, once your monthly credits are used up, AI features will be paused until your credits refresh at the start of the next billing cycle. You can still use all non-AI canvas tools, export your work, and collaborate normally.

On paid plans(Pro and Ultra), you won't be interrupted. Once you exceed your included credits, additional usage is automatically billed at a metered rate (you can set a maximum overage budget). You'll always be able to see your current usage in your account settings.

Yes! You can upgrade or switch plans at any time and your new credit allocation takes effect immediately. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you'll keep your current benefits until then.

Credits do not roll over between billing cycles. Each month, your credit balance resets to the allocation for your plan — 1,500/seat for Free, 6,000/seat for Pro, or 22,000/seat for Ultra.

If you use more than your included credits in a billing cycle, additional credits are billed automatically at a metered rate. This is tallied at the end of each billing period and added to your next invoice. You can monitor your usage in real time from your account settings.

All plans include unlimited projects and real-time collaboration. On paid plans, each team member is a seat — additional seats are added automatically and billed at the same per-seat rate. Each seat adds more credits to your shared pool.
